Sutton started swim class and loves it. She is a little water baby. Patrick and I rotate each week to get in the water with her. We have a few tricks to still work at (floating on back and allowing ears to go under water) but she has mastered a lot, thus far.

Tuesday nights are fun nights we always look forward to!

Wanted: Cutest Cowgirl in Town...

This past weekend, Oso was in town for work and stayed through the weekend. On Saturday, we loaded up and headed to Ft. Worth for the Stock Show and Rodeo. Of course, Oso wanted little Sass to have a pair of boots so we stopped at Sheplers on our way so he could get her a pair. Sutton is currently obsessed with shoes so she loved them and ran all over the store in them.

SO, it's safe to say Sutton has a little country in her. She was a little nervous the real cowgirls would catch on to her being a "city cowgirl." So, what does she do - she headed straight for the horse/cow droppings to break her new boots in and dirty them up a little. Oh, lovely! You gotta be the real deal out there, Mom. Needless to say, she LOVED ~~running~~ walking through the barns and checking out all the live stock.

Oh, and dad...this girl wants a pony!

Looks like we need to move to the country.

This past week, poor Sutton has been home sick. She had a virus which caused high fevers and sores in the back of her throat. Sadly, she couldn't kick the virus with Tylenol and sleep, so we had to make a second trip back to the doctor. We then discovered that she had a double ear infection working into the picture. Ughh! We got her on some serious antibiotics, which helped nurse her back to health! Here are a few pics of little bear over the last week.

Life is good when you are able to watch as much Yo Gabba Gabba as possible and eat whatever you want, where ever you want!

Yummmm! Apparently, three of these can cure any throat.

And finally, our little girl is back to her sweet, fun little self. It made us so thankful and happy to hear her laugh and giggle again!

15 Months and 10 for Tuesday

It's hard to believe that we have hit the 15 month mark! I have to admit... this has been our favorite age, so far. Everything she does is, well, CUTE!! She laughs, sings, plays hard, uses her imagination and loves to explore. She makes us laugh ALL. THE. TIME.

15 Month Stats:
27 lbs - 95%
32 inches long - 95%

A few things:
*Talking...sutton has always been more physical than verbal, but she is jabbering up a storm. she is still a girl of little words but has full conversations with you in jiberish. i was folding clothes the other day and she walked into the laundry room, sat down, and just started rambling. i couldn't help but laugh. when she does throw out a few words, they are: mamma, da da, up, duck, pup pup (her favorite), milk, and ball.

*Personality...she loves to be the center of attention. she loves for you to clap and laugh at her. She loves music and loves to sing. her favorite is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. she sings it quietly with hand motions and makes sure that everyone is doing it with her.

*Comprehension...it amazes me how much she understands! *we ask her if she wants milk, she walks to the refridgerator. *we say, "let's go bye-bye," she heads to the front door. *when we say it's time to get a bath - she heads straight for the stairs. *when it's night, night time, she gets her blanket, her sippy and off to the stairs she goes.

*Miss athletic!...she is quite a physical child. she can climb anything, kick or throw a ball, and she runs pretty darn fast. she loves to be outside. daddy is already predicting a soccer scholarship to OSU.

All and all, life is good and this little girl has captured our hearts forever!

Pumpkins, Ghost, and Sutton, oh My.

Happy (belated) Halloween! We visited the pumpkin patch and were able to trick or treat to a few houses for candy this year. We had a great time and Sutton loved staying up late to watch all the big kids. Here are a few pictures from our pumpkin visit and Halloween night!

Olivia Paige Mayfield

has arrived. Dan, Kendra, and Grey welcomed their new addition on Friday, October 7th. They did not find out the sex of the baby so we were all on pins and needles in the waiting room wondering what they were having!

Olivia was a healthy 7 lbs 11 oz and 20 inches long. Sutton is so excited to have a little girl in the family. She LOVES all her boy cousins but is happy to now have someone who will play dress up with her! I pray that Sutton and Olivia have a special relationship like their mommas. We are 13 months apart and grew up like sisters - the girls are 14 months apart and we pray they form the same relationship!

REUNITED and it feels so good...

This past week, Sutton went to Camp Knocke and spent the week with Cici and Oso. She had a ball and loved every minute of it. We missed her dearly but knew she was having so much fun! We got multiple updates each day and here are a few of the pictures we received over the past week!

Patrick and I would start the morning watching Sutton eat breakfast before work. She would wave at us in between bites. Ha, you can see P in the top left. ;)

We can't thank my parents enough for loving on her this past week. She is quite a handful these days and hard to keep up with. Back together again! We had a fun Sunday morning at the park and Farmers Market.

Sweet Sutton

Thanks for checking in and watching us grow. Sutton so desperately wants to be a "big" girl and has more energy than the energizer bunny! I know some of you other mommies know just what I'm talking about. This little one does not stop playing and moving until she crawls into her crib at night Don't get us wrong, we LOVE IT and love that she has such a fun, sweet spirit and zest for life!! She brings more love and joy to us every day. She is a daily reminder on how to be joyous, experience heart felt laughter, and find the wonder in every day things - there is nothing better than the innocence of a child!

Cheap Entertainment

Yesterday, Sutton's school called bc she was fussy and refusing her nap. My child...NO way! They thought she might have an ear infection and they wanted me to be aware. I always worry about ear infections since we have already had 5. So, I left work and took her to visit Dr. Sue. I was not prepared to entertain S while we waited for the doctor. So, this is what we turned to and it entertained her longer than I expected.

BIRTH DAY!!!!

We just had a big celebration around our house. Our sweet, little Sutton just turned one!! I can't believe it. We had a great day and weekend celebrating this precious one. We started the morning singing to her when she woke up.

We then all enjoyed LOTS of waffles. Who says a one year old birthday girl can't double fist waffles.

I must admit, I learned another "mommy lesson" on her birthday. We had our 1 year appointment scheduled for that afternoon. I knew I was in trouble when Dr. Sue walked in and said, "Amanda, I never want to see Sutton again ON her birthday." I figured she would get a shot or two but had no idea it would be 4. And drawing blood, that just about did her and me in. Oh, my heart broke for her. As we were leaving, I promised her all the cupcakes she wanted after we celebrated her birthday dinner. And that she did. She finished her electric pink cupcake and wanted some of mine. :) I let her have all the sugar she wanted.

That weekend, we had a birthday party at our house for Sass. Lots of family and friends helped us celebrate Sutton. It was so much fun and we can't thank everyone enough for celebrating with us. Sutton's party theme was pinwheels and we had it early to try and beat the Texas heat. It started at 10:30 a.m. and we served brunch.

All the kids tried to stay cool in the water slide/bounce house and baby pools. Sutton loved both of them and would just turn in circles not knowing where to play next. She had a ball and nothing brought greater joy than just listening to her yell and shriek with excitement.

CAKE TIME! Sutton loves sugar. She didn't miss a beat with her cake. It was everywhere!

We had such a great day celebrating Sutton. It is hard to believe that she has been in our lives for a full year. Nothing in life has brought us greater love and joy than being her parents. She is full of life and makes us complete. We love you, Miss Sutton, more than anything and thank you for bringing so much love, laughter and joy to our little family. Lots of love to you BIG girl.

So my parents have been telling us that Sutton is looking more and more like her momma the older she gets. They have had an image of me as a little girl in their mind and have been talking about this picture for some time now. They stumbled upon it and sent it to us.

Eleven months!!

Wow...where has the time gone and Miss Sutton, when did you get so old?? You are no longer a baby - you act and look like a toddler now. Here are some of your 11 month milestones....

* You are officially walking. It didn't take you long from taking your first steps to getting from point A to point B. You get so excited and clap for yourself when you get to your "destination." You are so proud - as are we!! Your sweet Aunt Kim gave you some new kicks that squeak when you walk. You love to make them squeak and we now know where you are at ALL times in the house
.

* You finally said your first word...DaDa! This made mamma so happy even though it wasn't MaMa. It is the cutest thing to hear you at night laying in bed saying DaDa, DaDa, over and over again. Talk about pulling at your Daddy's heart strings - all he wants to do is go upstairs and love on you more.

* You just got your 1st haircut. You did great! You sat in the chair like a big girl and didn't cry. You kept turning around to look at yourself in the mirror every time the lady would turn you away. I think you liked it even though you never smiled once. :)

* Naps....what's that? You are definitely trying to drop your naps. We usally get one long nap around lunch then a little cat nap on the way home from school. Not so sure this is a good thing, we may need to work on this a little bit.

* You have 8 teeth and it looks like another is popping up on the bottom. Holy moly, girlfriend....slow down.

* This week, you started at your new school. Momma had a lot of anxiety over the switch and prayed for an easy transition. You did GREAT. We both started the morning in tears but it ended up being a good day for you. You were so happy when I picked you up and I was able to put all my broken heart pieces back together. We are so proud of you.

* You love to fake cough. :) (Not sure this should be encouraged like it is.)

* You love to drink from your sippy cup during the day. The day is quickly approaching when we will have to get rid of the baba. I dread that because you LOVE your morning and nighttime baba.

* Your baby doll - she is no longer the light of your life. Every time you push your stroller, you throw her out. We are quick to love on the baby and put her back in the stroller but out she goes again. You would rather push shoes, farm animals and other random toys rather than your baby. Maybe you are trying to tell us that you are not going to be a girly girl! No problem.

* You won't sit still for longer than 3 seconds. You are constantly on the go and BUSY, BUSY, BUSY. I was trying to capture your precious 11 month pics but couldn't get you to sit still. We tried everything to get you to smile big! Finally (after a little frustration), I told daddy to just let you roam and we will see what we get AND......

LotsToCatchUpOn...

Where does the time go? We have been up to a lot these past couple of weeks and

have lots to catch up on.

We hit the 9 and 10 month milestones!

Sutton is on the verge of walking. She loves to push her stroller up and down the hallway and walk along all the furniture. She is very cautious and has yet to let go and walk on her own but she is almost there. She has mastered the stairs and is now obsessed so up went the gate. We knew it was time for the gate when I found her upstairs crawling into her room (I thought she was outside with Daddy - whew, no injuries there!) Sweet little girl is a girl of little words but loves to scream - she loves to hear her own voice. She still loves to shake her booty and dance. When she hears music, she starts to shake it and clap - it's the cutest thing. She is a full-time table eater now. She loves chicken, fish, fruit, veggies, mac-n-cheese, and lots of other things. Our sweet little girl is growing up too quickly! She is our greatest joy and makes us laugh all the time. She is such a ham!

Last weekend, daddy was in a fishing tournament down in Port Aransas with Oso, Grandpa and uncle Adam. While they were fishing, Sutton and I stayed in San Antonio with CiCi. We had a great time!

Choo, Choo!! All Aboard!

Miss Sutton has been vacationing down in San Antonio for a few days with CiCi and Oso. Yesterday, CiCi and Honey (aka Janet) took Sutton and Harper for a little train ride. The girls loved it and loved getting to spend some time together.

We are heading down to SA tonight and we can't wait to get our hands on this little one. XOXO!

Patrick, Sutton and I went down to SA a few weekends back to celebrate NIOSA (Night in Ol' San Antonio) and to see lots of friends. We took Sutton to the King William Festival and had a great time. We spent the weekend hanging out with family and friends!

A BIG Celebration Today!

Easter Weekend!

I am reflecting on what an amazing gift God gave us this Easter weekend. He let his own son, Jesus Christ, die on a cross for our sins. What a humbling thought. This year, my first Easter as a parent, it really hit home even more so than ever before!

My family, aunt, uncle and cousins came to Dallas for the weekend and we had a big Easter celebration at our house on Sunday. We enjoyed spending the day with both of our families together! Here are some pictures of our little bunny from the weekend for your (or maybe just my own) enjoyment.

The Easter Bunny came early and dropped off a gift! OMG, I played with my water table all night! I couldn't get enough of all the splashing.

8 Months (plus 1 week and 2 days)

Better late than never!

I have to say that this is the most fun time right now! Sutton is the light of our lives and is so much fun. Her little personality is just the cutest - she is quite serious but loves to laugh! Here are a few things she has been up to:

*In the morning, she waits patiently for us to come get her out of her crib. She stands up and stares at the door. When you open the door, she throws you the BIGGEST smile. It's the best greeting ever!

*She is a mover and a shaker!! She LOVES her music table. She shakes her bottom to the music - it's hysterical.

*She loves to stand behind her walking dinosaur. She pops up quickly and is trying to walk. She has taken a couple of steps here and there but not walking quite yet. She will definitely walk before she says momma or dadda.
*She is wearing 18 and 24 month clothes!

*She has 4 teeth - She just got her top 2. We are still working on finger foods. She is not a fan!

*She loves to snuggle after her last bottle. She is ready for bed and wants her lovin'. It's the sweetest time of day.

*We are on a roll with the earaches. :( Sutton just had her 4th one and had to get antibiotic shots since her little body became immune to the oral antibiotics. We have a ear check up this week but I have a feeling we are heading towards tubes very soon.

Sutton's Baptism

Oh what a blessed day! Sutton was baptized on Sunday, and Patrick and I could not be more proud. We vowed in front of our families and church congregation that we would raise Sutton to know and love God as He loves us. We were honored to have Rev. Patrick Lafferty baptize Sutton as he united us in marriage. The water used for the baptism was from the Jordan River - a special thanks to one of the other families whose child was being baptized too. Of course, we cherished having our families there to share in the sacrament and to celebrate at brunch afterwards. Sutton was an angel and felt SO loved. Our prayer is that she does not know a day without the love and presence of Him within her.

Sutton just had her 7th month birthday. She is on the move and is in to everything! My oh my is this momma tired! ;) It is amazing to watch and follow behind her as she explores. I watch and wonder what all is going through that bright, little mind of hers. She goes from room to room, picks something up, studies it, brushes it along her check, looks up with her precious smile then is off to the next big thing that catches her eye. Oh the joys this little one brings to our lives. We just can't get enough of her! We love you, little Sass!! You are our pride and joy. Happy 7th!

I apologize for mommy's tardiness. We've been having so much fun celebrating daddy's birthday over the past few days that she forgot to post my pictures - crazy lady!! Daddy's birthday was on Wednesday and I gave him the best present ever....ME for the whole day!!! We had another snow day so school (and therefore work) was cancelled. We loved being able to enjoy the special day together!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY! I love you so very much and am the luckiest girl in whole, wide world!!

I helped mommy make daddy breakfast in bed. We all lounged in bed while daddy ate and opened his presents.

A Little Vacay for All!!

Patrick and I are back from our first vacation without our little pride and joy. We were out in Santa Fe visiting the Trice's and hitting the slopes. Megan and Roy were wonderful hostesses and made our first trip away one we will always remember! Sutton went to visit CiCi and Oso for the week and had SO much fun. She was quite the social butterfly and had lots of playdates. Many thanks to all who came by to play - she had a ball! CiCi and Oso kept us updated with lots of pictures and thankfully would iChat with us most mornings and evenings so we could see our little pumkpin - that was a little taste of heaven.

Here are a few of my favorite pictures...

Sutton had lots of new tricks to show us when we got home last night. It's amazing how much they grow in one week - she is on the verge of crawling, plays hide-n-seek with her blanket (which I must say is the cutest thing EVER), loves patty-cake and can go from laying down to sitting up (strong stomach muscles). We had such a great trip but both agreed that we wanted her to travel with us next time. We missed her way too much!!

I can't thank my parents enough for taking care of our little angel! There is no better feeling than knowing your child is in the best hands possible and having a ball! She is already asking when she can come back so GET READY. :)

Two Peas in a Pod!

Guess who popped into town this past weekend for a visit.....Krissy!! Kristen and Sutton are best, best buds and can't get enough of each other. I love to watch Sutton just stare at her with amazement - she is always so curious as to what Kristen is doing. It makes us so happy when she is in town and she is always such a HUGE help. I gave Kristen a hard time this weekend that she has visited Dallas more the past 6 months than she has the whole 10 years I have lived here. Hummmm!!!!

We were sad to let her go on Monday. :(

Baby It's COLD Outside!!

This past weekend, we had our first snow day, or at least what Texans consider a snow day! We were not shoveling snow off the driveway but we had some snow flurries that stuck to the ground for a few hours. We got Sutton dressed in some warm clothes and played out in the snow. I think she liked it - she had a big smile on her face and was shrieking a lot! Hopefully, we will be able to take her to see some REAL snow and have her hit the slopes with us sometime soon! :)

Team Field!

This week is the week that all of our friends and family have been praying about. Yesterday, Lisa, Brad and Field arrived in Houston for Field's heart surgery, which will take place on Wednesday. This will be his second, and biggest, of three surgeries - the procedure is called Glenn/DKS. Please keep this sweet family and especially Field in your thoughts and prayers this week. I know God will be with them every step of the way but the more prayers, the better! For updates during their stay in Houston, you can link over to their blog, The Journey of the Johnsons, as they will do their best to keep it updated on his progress!

Here are some of the specific prayers from Lisa: We would so appreciate your prayers for safe travels, productive pre-op appointments, a successful and informative cath procedure, continued health for Field, Brad, myself, Dr. Fraser, and anyone else caring for him in Houston, wisdom for those caring for Field, and of course a very safe, successful, and smooth surgery and recovery. Prayers that there would not be any complications during or after surgery and that the new anatomy of Field's heart will be perfect for Field.

Sutton's First Christmas!

It's hard to believe that Christmas has come and gone so quickly. We had such a wonderful Christmas break. Sutton added such a special meaning to the celebration of Christmas, and we had so much fun celebrating with her! We celebrated with Patrick's family the weekend before and we had so much fun. Kiersten and Clayton came in town so we had all the kids together! I just wish we got a picture with all of them together. Kiersten, Clayton, and Holton are all so great with the newbies, Sutton and Weston. We can't wait until they are all running around together next Christmas.

Sutton has TWO TEETH!! The last week and half has truly been a lot of firsts for Sutton - ear infection, cough and TEETHING. We had no idea. We thought her fussiness and lack of spunk was all due to her ears! How did we find out about her chompers, you ask...WELL....

Sutton and I were walking into school on Friday and were talking to some friends. As we were chatting, one of the teachers came up to kiss Sutton and in return, Sutton gave her a big smile.
Teacher: "Sutton, you have a tooth!"
Me: WHAT!?!?!?!?! She has a tooth??? MY child!?!?!? Are you serious? Where??
Carrie: Don't you just love it when other people notice things about your child before you!!
Me(still in shock): What? A tooth? Seriously!! How can this be? How did I not notice?

I quickly took Sutton to her classroom to see what I have been neglecting to see! Sure enough, she had a pearly white on the bottom. I couldn't believe it! We are not even 5 months old yet! Then, on Saturday morning, Patrick, Sutton and I were playing and we were trying to get a better look at her tooth. And what do we see...ANOTHER ONE popping up right next to it!! I was just glad we caught this one before someone else did. :)

I told Patrick, she better slow down or puberty is going to hit us at the age of 6!!!

Yoakum, TX

Ever heard of it?!?!?!?! Well, both of my parents are from Yoakum and I spent a lot of my childhood running around this small, small town! I have such great childhood memories there and have not been back in many years. This past weekend, Sutton and I decided to make the trip (sadly, Patrick had to stay back in Dallas) for the Knocke Christmas which was being held in Yoakum. Yoakum is about 5 hours from Dallas so we broke up the drive and went to Austin to stay with Krissy then drove in with her for the day on Saturday. When we arrived, Kristen and I took Sutton on a little tour of Yoakum. Our first stop was our Grandmas house. It brought back a lot of emotions but was so great to see it at the same time. Lots of wonderful memories were had there and I SO wish Sutton could meet my grandma. She was an amazing women who loved and adored her family. We also showed her the bulldog statue we use to play on at the highschool which is across the street from Grandmas - I use to spend hours sitting on the bulldog while my grandma watched me! We then went on to meet up with everyone and introduce Sutton to the whole Knocke family. The Knocke family is quite large (my dad has 5 brothers and sisters) who have lots of kids who have lots of kids...you get the picture. Sutton got to meet her great-grandparents, Granny and PoPo (my dad's parents), which was so special. Granny and PoPo have 8 great-grandchildren and Sutton is the youngest and ONLY girl! She was such a hit with them - they loved meeting her. It was a fun day and Sutton was quite a trooper considering she had an ear infection and bad cough last week. :(

Thanksgiving came and went WAY too quickly! This year, we celebrated in Dallas and Patrick and I hosted both of our families. We had a house full but enjoyed every moment having everyone! We can't believe you are already four months old! Time is flying and oh how we wish we could stop time! Right now, you love to laugh and SMILE. Your smile lights up a room and melts our heart! Your favorite time of day is in the morning. You are so happy when we come into your room to wake you up. It is the highlight of our day. You LOVE us to sing to you, especially when you are in your carseat and want out. It puts you right to sleep. You are rolling over both ways and are trying to sit up.

You are one strong little girl - and strong willed! We love the way you make us laugh. You have changed us and have brought a whole new meaning to life! You are loved by so many and we feel blessed to call you our daughter!

To continue from the last post, we had a busy week while in SA but LOTS of FuN!! Here are some pictures from our week!

Sweet Honey hosted a grandmothers, mommies and babies brunch at her house one morning! We all went to high school together and have been friends for many years! Who would have thought then that we would all have babies within 4 months of eachother! Too fun!!

After our brunch, we went to the SA dinner club halloween picnic! All the kids came in their costumes! Miss Sutton was a little pumpkin! She was a little worn out at the beginning!!

Sutton got a new, fun toy which she loved playing in! She loved all the lights and sounds but can't quit touch the ground just yet! I'm sure she will be jumping through the roof at Christmas time!

And we turned 3 months! Gosh, time flies. I can't believe it. She is getting so big and is so much fun. She is the sweetest little thing EVER and is a little sassy! She is our BIG love!!

We were in SA for a full week but when it was time to leave, we were wishing for more time! It's always hard to leave but Sutton and I were also excited to get home to see daddy!! We went over to Kendra and Dan's house on Halloween to celebrate Dan's birthday and trick or treat. We didn't do much of the latter but had a great time hanging out and playing with the kids.

Grey was a puppy and had his costume on all afternoon but when it came time to go trick or treating, he wanted to take it off. HA! What s a mom to do?? So Kendra put him in his pajamas and he was a skeleton! Such personality!!

Sutton and I have been on the GO since Patrick left for his annual hunting trip. I have not had a lot of time to post some of the fun activities we have done so we are now playing a little catch up!

Early last week, Kim, Grandma and I took Weston and Sutton out to the Arboretum to see the amazing pumpkin patch they have every year! They have over 40,000 pumpkins and these amazing builds. We stayed for an hour or so but then left bc the kids got a little hot!

Then last Thursday, Sutton and I loaded up and headed down to San Antonio while Daddy was gone. Sutton did really well in the car and slept from Dallas to Georgeotwn. We stopped for lunch then picked Kristen up in Austin, which was great. We played all day Friday then headed to Lake Travis for a big family celebration on Saturday. My cousin, Morgan, got engaged and her fiance rented a house for everyone to get together to help celebrate. Marcus did a wonderful job and was so thoughtful in all the details. They have been dating for 7 years and we were so excited to be apart of the happy day!

Kim and I took Sutton and Holton to a pumpkin patch yesterday! Sutton slept for a portion of the time but Holton had a ball with all the pumpkins and bounce houses. Little Weston stayed home with Adam to catch up on some zzzz's. He was missed! We both came home with some pumpkins that Holton picked out. We had to stear him towards the cheaper ones bc he kept picking out the $40 and $50 pumpkins.....ughhh, thanks but NO thanks. If I bought a $50 pumpkin, Patrick would make me keep it out for months! That's right, last Friday afternoon we packed up and headed over to the State Fair of Texas with Papa Oso and CiCi. It was the first time for my parents to go and a first for Sutton! The weather was so nice so it was wonderful to get outside, walk around and enjoy the food and company!

DOS MESES!

Our little senorita was 2 months yesterday and boy, was it a big day! We started the day with her 2 month check-up, 4 shots and some big tears. Many thanks to CiCi - both Sutton and I needed a shoulder to cry on, and Patrick was unable to come along with us. Sutton was a big girl, and we were so proud of her. CiCi and I took Sutton shopping afterwards so she wouldn't hold a grudge against us! Over the last few days she has started to talk to us by cooing and smiling up a storm - it's too sweet! SMU Bound????

Sutton attended her first SMU tailgate and football game on Friday night. SMU played TCU so it was a big game and it was also Parents Weekend. Sadly, we lost but it was a good game until the 4th quarter - just when Sutton was ready to go home! :) She loved being outside and around all the action! This past weekend, Sutton crossed her first state line and went up to Stillwater for the OSU vs. Tulsa game. She had so much fun and got to meet some of Patrick's college friends. We went to the tailgate for awhile then Sutton and I called it a night while Patrick went onto the game. We had a great time and Sutton enjoyed her first (of many) trips up to OSU. We were both thankful at least one of the Cowboys pulled off a win! Here are a few pics from the trip!

Thank you all for your sweet calls, texts, and messages for my birthday! My 30th birthday was filled with lots of love and happiness!!! I celebrated early with a fun dinner at the Porch with some of my sweet friends. It was so fun being able to celebrate and catch up with all of them! I spent the actual day with Sutton and Patrick - I could not have planned a better day. I was able to spend the whole day with Sutton then had a dinner date with Patrick. How can you not enjoy celebrating with these two!! They bring such joy to my life and I have to say, my 30s is off to a GREAT start.

Sweet Cousins and P90Sutton

Sutton is so loved by her many cousins! She has already been able to spend lots of time with them and loves being the baby of the group - even if it is for a very short time! We are all anxiously awaiting for the arrival of our new nephew, Weston. Kim and Adam are expecting ther last baby boy, and at the end of this month, Sutton will have to pass down the title! Here is our little girl with her sweet cousins. My hope for her is that her relationship with her cousins is what my sister and I experienced with our cousins - a relationship filled with lots of love, sisterhood, deep friendship, and FUN (and maybe a lttle trouble here and there)!!!

Back in the day, Patrick and I got into P90X but it slowly fell off the radar once I got pregnant! We kept saying once we had the baby, we would get back into the videos once we put her down to sleep - hhahha, we were so naive. Well, below is our new version we like to call P90Sutton! This is one of the few ways to quiet our child during her fussy times. If anyone is interested in the newest version, give us a call. Our biceps are HUGE!

Time flies when your having fun changing diapers, feeding, pumping, lacking sleep and taking care of our precious little Sutton!! It's hard to believe that our little sweetness turned 1 month yesterday! Oh, how much she has changed in just 30 days. She has gained 2.6 lbs, about to out grow her newborn clothes, looking around taking in her surroundings and can focus in on you and give you a little smirk! The love we have for her is something no one can ever prepare you for - it stretches as far as the east goes to the east and the west goes to the west! We just love to snuggle with her and hold her a little tighter every night (if that is possible)!

Here are some updated pictures of Miss Sutton! She is growing like a weed and it makes me sad she is growing so fast. Her looks change daily and her personality is starting to shine. She now smiles at us - talk about melting your heart!! We are still amazed (and so thankful) with what a sweet, sweet baby she is and how content she is. She loves to get out and about and has only had a few public meltdowns which is wonderful for mommy bc meltdows make me sweat!! Ha.

Sutton and I are so blessed with such a wonderful daddy and husband! I always knew Patrick would be a great dad but did not expect him to be so "hands on" with Sutton, especially in the newborn stage since all they do is eat and sleep! On Saturday, Patrick gave Sutton a bath while I took a shower and got dressed! When I came out of our bedroom, I walked in on Daddy dancing with Sutton to get her to sleep after her bath! It was precious and so sweet and I had to share! :)

2 Weeks!

Miss Sutton had her two week check up today, and we were excited to hear the doctor say she was thriving! She weighs a whopping 7 lbs 10 oz and is 20 inches long. She was as sweet as could be until they poked her heel! :( It broke our hearts watching her cry so hard as they drew blood. All we wanted to do was take her to get a toy after her appt to make her happy again!

Daddy came home from work and put Sutton in a Rangers onsie so they could watch the baseball game together. He got them all set up then she passed out for the whole game. Ha, but how sweet does she look! Dad had fun just staring at her all night. We are a proud momma and daddy! :)

It's hard to believe that Sutton is already one week and one day old! We have truly been blessed with a little angel. She has been such a good baby and loves to eat, SLEEP (she got the Knocke gene there) and poop! She is very content and has such a sweet, calm disposition. We are excited to announce the arrival of little spice, Sutton Elaine Kelly!! She was born on July 27, 2010. She is 7 lbs 1 oz and is 19 1/2 inches long. She is perfect and a blessing from God!

Can we say STUBBORN...

Little Spice is as comfortable as can be and does not want to come out!! Sadly, I just left my appointment with another appointment scheduled for Monday morning! :( I still have not started to dilate so my doctor does not want to induce me tomorrow or over the weekend bc my odds increase in having a c-section since my body (or little spice) is not ready for the labor just yet. Ughhh! He did say that he has seen patients before with no movement (like me) and then they go into labor later that night so that brought a smile to my face and is my prayer!!

If no baby by this weekend, I will go in at 10:00 a.m. Monday morning and my dr will make sure everything is good with the baby's overall movements and breathing. He will also check the amniotic fluid and placenta to make sure the baby is getting everything he/she needs. This is standard procedure - he is not concerned about anything at this point! If there is still no progress, he will induce me next Thursday (8/29).

I am trying really hard not to be disappointed. Such is life and I am going to enjoy these next few days with Patrick and just being a family of two! :)

Whitfield Edward Johnson "Field"

My best friend, Lisa and her wonderful husband Brad, welcomed their precious little boy Field into the world on Monday, June 14th. Shortly after Fields arrival, they learned that Field has a congenital heart defect. The doctor's term for it is double inlet left ventricle which means he has a three heart chamber rather than four. As you can imagine, our hearts broke for this new family of three. Field will undergo 3 surgeries...the first one taking place at 4 weeks of life, the second one will be at 6 months, and the last one will take place when he is 3 years old. Field was able to come home from the NICU yesterday to his new home, which I'm sure he loved. Sweet Field is blessed with such wonderful, godly parents but I ask that you keep them all in your prayers over the next months. Please pray for encouragement, guidance and that God's hand is with the doctor's as they perform his first surgery.

It's All Good...

AT THE KELLYS!! We had our dr appointment yesterday and got a great report on little spice's growth. To bring some up to speed, at my appt 2 weeks ago, my doctor was a little concerned because my stomach was not growing and I was not the size of someone at 31 weeks. So he scheduled a sonogram for our next appt so we could chart the growth progress from our last sono in April. As you can imagine being a first time parent, this sent me into panic mode and I left the appt in tears thinking LS was not growing! Well, we are happy to report that LS is measuring right on target and is exactly where he/she needs to be. My stomach is still smaller than normal but I can deal with that (my weight is still adding up - just going to other places rather than the belly). Our niece and nephew were over at our house the other night and Kiersten kindly put her hand on my thigh and said, "It's OK Amanda, all of this will go away soon." Patrick and I just died laughing!!! What do you say to that... But in all seriousness, we really want to thank you for all the prayers, texts, e-mails, etc with your encouraging words and love! We appreciate them more than you know!

Other than that - Patrick is in heaven as Tater is staying with us for a few weeks while his parents, our niece and nephew are in Colorado on vacation. Tater LOVES Patrick and goes crazy every time he walks in the door. Here are a few pics of them playing last night. I took these with my phone so they are a little fuzzy.

It's been 8 months since I attended my last happy hour and I have forgotten how fun they are (no worries - lemonade only for me)! And let me tell you - I am forever a fan of HH showers. I had an absolute blast and was incredibly blessed by many dear friends in San Antonio with a baby shower for little spice and me! It was perfect - people could come and go as they needed and I got to catch up with all the girls and moms. It was so fun and my mom and I felt incredibly blessed for all our sweet friends and their friendships! Here are a few pics from the shower and the beautiful set-up at the Barnett's home!!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game!

Tonight, Patrick, Adam, Kim, Holton, and I went out to the Rangers game to watch them play the Chicago Cubs. The AL West leading Texas Rangers beat the Cubs 2-1. We had a great time drinking, eating, and cheering! Afterwards, we stayed to watch the fireworks, which Holton loved more than his favorite player, Ian Kinsler. 30 Weeks!

We hit our 30th week of pregnancy today! WOW - it's crazy to think that I have been carrying around little spice for 30 weeks now. Time is flying! Little Spice is weighing in at around 3 lbs (think head of cabbage).

We had a dr appt on Monday and all went well. Well.....except for the fact that Doc told me there was a little TOO much weight gain this past month. Opps! But hey, don't they say to enjoy this time??? Well, I am and am enjoying all the pizza, candy, ice cream, etc while I can! Ha. After that talk, it was interesting to hear that my belly measured a little smaller than what someone at 29/30 weeks should be. Hummm, I wonder where all the weight is going!?!?! Our doc did not seem concerned about little spice's growth since we had a sono last month and he/she hit all of her measurements then. He is going to continue to monitor my belly growth since I am now going in for an appointment every two weeks!

Other than that, Patrick and I have been enjoying our last few months being a family of two! We have been taking advantage of eating out, sleeping in, watching TV and traveling on the weekends. We are beyond excited for the arrival of our little one but are "living up" this lifestyle as long as we can (we both like our sleep)! :)

Oh, What a Weekend...

This weekend was full of celebrations - my dad's (belated) birthday and our first baby shower! My parents and sister came up Friday afternoon and stayed the weekend with us! We had a great time and were constantly on the go. We had a wonderful dinner on Friday night with Patrick's parents and our niece, Kiersten! It was great to get everyone together and catch up. Saturday morning we had our first baby shower! It was so much fun and my sweet friends did such an amazing job! Patrick and I are so thankful for their love and friendship! The shower was perfect in every way. Here are a few pics from the shower.

Our niece, Kiersten, my sister-in-law, Kim and my mother-in-law, Bev! Other exciting news - Kim is almost 19 weeks pregnant with another boy! We are SO excited that our babies are going to be so close in age and Holton is excited to be a big brother. We can't wait to welcome Baby Baby (Holton's name for the baby) in September!

While we were at the shower, Patrick and my dad started putting together the nursery furniture! We have the crib and glider ready to go and are just now waiting on the dresser and tall cabinet. These items are in San Antonio and we hope to pick them up soon! I will post pictures of the nursery once it is completed!

Saturday night, we had a birthday dinner for my dad with Judy, Kenneth, Kendra, Dan and Grey! It was so fun celebrating with family. I failed to get a picture of my dad's cake but here is a picture of him blowing out his candles on his real birthday. Happy Belated Birthday Dad! We were so glad that we were able to help celebrate with you! XOXO!

We were sad to see everyone head back south on Sunday. It was such a fun weekend and we enjoyed having everyone stay with us! To wind down the weekend, Patrick and I spent Sunday afternoon at the park - it was a beautiful day and we enjoyed being outside in the sun. Patrick took his fishing pole along with us and look what he caught!

A Special Baby Shower for a Special Friend!!

This weekend, Patrick and I went our seperate ways and he did his boy thing and I did my girl thing!!

I headed down to San Antonio to help host a baby shower for one of my dear friends, Lisa. Lisa and I grew up together and have been best friends since we were 5 years old! She is due in June so it has been so much fun being 6 weeks apart and sharing stories! We plan to keep eachother company during late night feedings when everyone else in the world is sleeping. :) We hosted the shower at my parents house and had a great time spoiling Lisa and Baby Field!

Patrick spent the weekend working and getting geared up for the NASCAR race in Dallas. They went out early Sunday morning to tailgate with high hopes that the rain would clear up. Sadly, it was a steady rain all day and the race was postponed until Monday but they still managed to have fun tailgating in the rain and mud!!

Little Spice Update - 25 and half weeks!

Patrick and I had a dr. appointment yesterday and everything looks great!! Our doc was very pleased and Little Spice is right on target and measuring great - although our doc did say he/she has some big ears! HAHAHAHA - I think he/she gets it from her father! :) As of today, Patrick thinks it's a boy and I think it's a girl. Below is a 4-D pic we got from our appointment - it is a close up of the face - you can see the crown of the head, eyes, nose and mouth!

I think little spice looks precious, if I do say so myself!

Recruiting Wedding!!

This past weekend we celebrated the wedding of Kiley and Justin! Kiley works with me so it has been so much fun to hear all about the details over the past months then see it all come together! The wedding was absolutely beautiful! Our whole department was there which made for a fun night!

Patrick and I are expecting a new addition to our family this July! That's right, we will soon be a family of THREE! We are beyond excited and are looking forward to the arrival of "Little Spice."
